This book, and much of the information it contains, are now out of date. Many of the weapons described within (particularly older AAMs) have now been retired, some of them have had their true performance statistics severely refined in the wake of the fall of the Iron Curtain (many scribbles will be needed in the margins), and there are a lot of gaps which National Security concerns probably never allowed to be filled and maybe never will. Not just that, but many current weapons were mere gleams in the eyes of their inventors when it came out.

Nevertheless, it's an excellent broad-brush guide to the air-launched weapons of all kinds from many nations (not just the major players) which were either in service or close thereto at the time the book was printed and for quite a few years afterwards.
For military aviation aficionados whose period of interest is the supersonic Jet Age or in aircraft weapons of any type, this book is one of the "must haves".
