Detailed Description: Oofhours Media Tool is a program designed to simplify the process of creating installation ISO images of the Windows 10 and Windows 11 operating systems. The author of the program decided to develop his own solution since the official Microsoft Media Creation Tool (MCT) utility has some limitations, such as dependence on the architecture and a limited selection of Windows versions. With Oofhours Media Tool, you can choose between different OS versions (for example, Windows 10 22H2 or Windows 11 22H2), architectures (x64, ARM64, x86 for Windows 10), languages, and editions of Windows. There are a total of 5,174 combinations available, although not all of them actually exist. After selecting the desired combination, the program downloads the corresponding ESD file, extracts the image from it and creates an ISO file that can be used to install the OS. The program was created as an experimental project and is distributed as a zip archive that can be downloaded and unpacked. The program requires the Windows ADK to be installed, as it uses the OSCDIMG utility to create ISO images. It is also worth noting that the program supports changing the compression ratio of the created image, which can be useful for compatibility with various deployment tools. Since the release of the first version of the program, the author regularly updates it, correcting errors and adding new features. The August 2024 Oofhours Media Tool update brings the following important improvements: Support for creating bootable USB media: Now the program allows you not only to create ISO images, but also to write them to USB drives. The program automatically formats the USB drive in FAT32 format and copies the contents of the ISO file to it. Splitting large WIM files: If the WIM file (created from the downloaded ESD file) is larger than 4 GB, the program will automatically split it into parts to fit the file size limit for FAT32. Working with larger USB drives: If the USB drive is larger than 32GB, the program will create one 32GB partition on it, format it to FAT32, and leave the rest of the drive unused. Disk Space Check: Added additional checks to ensure there is enough disk space to load the ESD file before starting the process.
These changes greatly simplify the creation of bootable USB media and eliminate many of the difficulties that users may have previously encountered.
